正规体育投注开户VIDEO: GP Team Project
The impact of plastic waste pollution, and particularly single-use plastic items, has had increased public awareness in recent months – but that hasn’t stopped the problem. Students at South Island School, Hong Kong decided to examine the problem for the group work project as part of their Cambridge IGCSE Global Perspectives course.
They found that of about 1.91 million tonnes of municipal solid waste recovered in Hong Kong each year, only about 3 per cent is recycled locally.
As well as researching the issue, the students took practical steps to tackle pollution by cleaning up a local beach. They used some of the rubbish they collected to create and exhibit artwork to increase awareness of the problem. This short film documents their waste clean-up efforts and the creation of their awareness-raising artwork using recycled material.
